Betsy CH. Casablanca's Charisma JH, WCX Ch. Quillquest Express CDX SH WCX x Ch. Quillquest Harvest JH WCX DOB: August 8, 1991 by Adrienne Ayles Ms. Betsy was born three days after I had surgery on both feet. I was barely getting around from my surgery, when Feathers decided to have 10 puppies. Thank God for good friends and my Mom that came to my rescue, because without them, Feathers (probably would have been just fine) and I would have been in a world of hurt. Betsys litter was one of those experiences I wont soon forget. Betsy has grown up to be an avid retriever and a true to type Flat Coat. Betsy completed her championship in April of 1994 in nice style including a 5 point major at the Los Encinos Kennel Club Show. From start to finish, Betsy completed her Championship in less than 5 months with very limited showing. While we were working on her championship, we were also spending weekends training in the field and in the fall of 1994 she finished her Junior Hunter Title. Of the puppies Presto sired, Betsy, in my opinion, is the most like Presto in general type and temperament. Like her father, Betsy is one of those "I have to have something in my mouth" retrievers. Besides retrieving pigeons, ducks and pheasants while field training or at a Hunt Test, Betsy enjoys recreational retrieving. Betsy retrievers gophers from the yard every couple of months, baby sparrows that have fallen from their nest , not very smart ducks that come visiting from next door and her all time favorite, the 18 inch stuffed Christmas Moose. All of these items (including the gophers) are delivered to hand, with the expectation of receiving great praise and maybe another toss or two. If there is nothing available in the yard to retrieve, she just goes out back and is quite content to eat lemon off the tree.
