Ruffy CH. Casablanca's Black Ruffles UDX CH. Quillquest El Diablos Damian CD x CH. Omega's Honey Suckle Rose JH, CDX By Bonnie Behrmann My name is Ruffy and I am an eight-year old Flat-Coated Retriever bitch. I became a conformation champion in Phoenix, Arizona in October, 1991. My Mom was pretty excited about this and she bought me some great treats and toys. I ate both. I am an obedience (not the same as obedient!) competitor. My titles include Companion dog, Companion Dog Excellent, and Utility Dog. The Prize Wall has lots of green (qualifying) ribbons and several other in blue, red, yellow, and white. My trophies fill a space in the kitchen. The high point of my obedience career was winning High in Trial at the National Specialty in 1995. Again my mom seemed very excited! We took home a very special ribbon and some terrific trophies. I had some excellent meals and toys for a few days after that ! Mom says I have to finish my Utility Dog Excellent title, but Im not convinced that this is necessary. I have six out of the ten required legs, but its hard to do everything right in both Open and Utility classes on the same day. When Im good at the obedience trial, Mom lets me eat a tennis ball. I get pretty excited doing those last jumps, because I know theres a tennis ball snack in it for me! I hurt my back in 1996, and I had to have a surgery and a very long recover. I was really BORED waiting for my back to heal - no running, no jumping, no retrieving! My doctor says Im now as good as new and Ive been back to work for the last four months! My favorite thing is when Dads plays ball with me. Mom says I can learn hunting when I finish my UDX. It sounds like fun!
